Los Campesinos + Plaza Club = Modular Dancing

My sister and I just got back from seeing Los Campesinos at the Plaza (as the title says!) and I have to say that it was what I expected. They were full of energy and played with lots of gusto and where quite catchy.

If you havent heard of them, you should go and seek some of their songs. It reminded me of being at a really good house party and these guys and gals were playing their hearts out for the people. We Say Party and You say Die opened for them and joined them on stage for the last song of the main set.

It was not a very full club. I would say it had about 150 people there who got to see Los Camp's do their thang. and you got to see mod kids dance to their hearts content... i feel so mod therefore i dance mod!

edit: i forgot the best part of the show...it was the drummer running off stage putting his shirt back on and getting back to the merch table. Now thats rock n roll!

also here is a setlist from another show but looks fairly similar to ours...

  1. broken heartbeats
  2. dont tell me to do the maths
  3. death to los campesinos!
  4. this is how you spell.......
  5. drop it doe eyes
  6. tweexcore
  7. knee deep at atp
  8. my year in lists
  9. frontwards
  10. we are accelarated reader
  11. .....and we exhale
  12. Box Elder (short Pavement cover)
  13. you! me! dancing!
  14. we throw parties
  15. sweet dreams

Go Canada

I have just finished watching the Canada vs Brazil soccer game from last night in Seattle. Had I been more on the ball, I would of gone to the game. How often do Brazil come that close to your home with a more or less full strength squad. I didnt even know that the game was going on until about two weeks ago.

As for the game, i think that Canada could of actually won the game. I think that the turning point was when one of the Canadian players has a breakaway but chipped the ball wide. At that point it would of been 2-1 Canada going into the half but it ended up the reverse. So from then on Canada was playing catch up, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2...final.

The Canadian team has nothing to be ashamed of. They did very good, showed well and took the Brazilians all the way. Good for them.

Here is another link.

on a side note...rip L.B.

Who Kissed A Girl? Kate Perry did bitch!

In my email i got this new song called I Kissed A Girl by Kate Perry. I have no idea who she is or what it would sound like...so what is my take on this song?

Its very pop with a crunchy sound. Its very catchy and I find my self singing the chorus. I think that this could be a very big summer hit. But I also wonder if this song is of the one hit variety. I was only sent this one song...but I have to admit, it appeals to me (maybe the imagery of the lyrics!) but dont tell anyone, please!

think goldfrapp light, if you know goldfrapp

edit...hold up! i looked into this chick a little more and she is going to be on the vans warped tour. that seems kinda like a different kinda pairing. wow! but she is described as 'fun, sexy and sassy'. maybe she'll tease those boys!

here is the video...i havent watched but it promises to be fun...

Man U are the kings of Europe

I stayed home today to watch the Champions League final. It was the first time that there was an all english final. It was between Chelsea (who knocked out Arsenal, bastards!) and Man U(who were Arsenal's chief rivals for so long). I dont know that I was really rooting for either team but I also didn't want Chelsea to win either!!!

Chelsea is like the Yankees. they buy the best players and overpay at that. That just ruins it for the rest of us. Plus they are so damn cocky and I cant stand the way they play their football.

Anyways I digress. The game wasn't too bad in the first half. Man U was bossing the game and looked like the team to win. It especially seemed that way after C. Ronaldo headed home the games first goal around the 30 min mark.

I was thinking that they looked the better team and was going to win. That was until Frank 'Dank' Lampard scored to even the game at 1 a piece on the 40th minute. This really took the wind out of United's sails. But luckily the half time came and they could take a draw into the changeroom.

The second half was a bit of a snoozer. Both sides weren't willing to be that adventurous and although Chelsea looked the better half in the second, I didn't think that they were going to win.

Fast forward to extra time. Didier Drogba got a straight red with 7 minutes left in the game. A bit of foolish thing to do in the biggest game of the season, if not his career.

He slapped Vidic in the face. Silly boy! But in the end, it didnt matter the game went to shoot outs and Man U was victorious! Thank god!

until next time...

I have bought tickets to see Stone Temple Pilots at Gm Place for the end of the summer. That should be pretty hot, assuming that Scott Weiland makes it to the show! They were one of those bands that I never saw during their first go around and vowed to see if they ever did make a comeback.

I am trying to think of anything else of significance but cant think of anything right now...oh I went to a mustache/birthday party last weekend.
