Excuse Me?! You said WHAT?

Today I rode my bike to work and I have to say that man does my ass hurt. I really need a new seat, in fact I need one of those gel padded seats. I think that is the way to go. Anyways the meat of this post goes like this...

I was riding home, well actually to my parents place. Along the way, I was riding along 47 and came to an intersection. Well I was watching this mercedes and wanted to make sure that it saw me. And of course he didnt and then at the last minute he did and did this jerk stop. So I proceded to go through the intersection and looked at the guy. I didnt really think that I glarred at him but I rolled my eyes or shook my head.

As I rode by and he went through the intersection he yelled out

'What are you looking at CHINK?!'

I couldnt believe what I had just heard. I quickly did a sharp turn to go back towards the guy but I went too sharply and went over the handlebars. Luckily I landed on my feet and when I picked up my bike to get on and chase after the guy, I noticed that my chain was off. So I put it back on and then went to chase the guy but he was long gone. I did find a mercedes that looked like his going into an underground car park but choose not to follow. But man was I pissed. My head was in a haze for an hour.

I'm not even sure what I would of done had I made that turn properly...

Also, I will be going to europe in the summer and Pearl Jam just anounced some dates over there but timing isnt right...too bad...that would of been awesome to see them in London or Berlin!

Things are starting to happen

Tonight is Game 1 of the playoffs. Extremely excited b/c we were not in it last year...but hopefully things go off to a great start...c'mon nucks!
Also, Doves have release a new album 'Kingdom of Rust'...I have only heard a few songs but it sounds like more of their best!

No Can Do

My moms was a huge Hall and Oates fan and so it was on all the time in my house growing up. I was sent this video and I must say that seeing the unlikely pairing of Darryl Hall and Chromeo matched together redo No Can Do was very surprising. But dude, it rocks! check it out...



Also apparently the Chelsea Liverpool game was cracker. The game was tied 4-4 but Chelsea held on to win on aggregate 7-5. What a game to have been at. I will try to catch it on replay on TSN later tonight.

Cant Sleep, What Else to Do!

Its is in the wee hours of the morning and I cant sleep. Maybe its the turkey waiting, no, more like kicking to get out of my stomach.

I thought that I would check on the status of my blog and came to the realization that I no longer may any attention to it. I should but I dont, so now on I will do my best to be a good friend and nourish this blog back to health once again!


Nucks won their division for the 2nd time in three years...not bad...i bet there are a lot of broken ankles that are healing just in time for the playoffs. Burrows has been pretty clutch for the last little while. Lets hope he can keep it up and watch out for Sundin, its his time to shine.

Got my Pearl Jam ten re-issuse...very please about that. I forgot how awesome that album really is. It hasnt really left my cd player for the last couple of weeks...
Finally got really into the police over the weekend watch Spectacle with Elvis Costello. He was interviewing the Police this past episode and there was some cool insight into the band. Here is their combo performance of 'Watching the Detectives/Walking On the Moon'. Very cool...

Fran, the lead singer got the entire crowd to do the 'pogo' on the dancefloor for why does it always rain...and there were plenty of sing alongs...and one final note...it was a concert that went by very fast...truely the mark of a great live band...

Well...100 posts...I honestly didnt think that I would make it this long! Who woulda thunk it!

Anyways, my story that I wanted to tell. On any normal day, I am awaken to Jack FM coming onto the radio. Most days I hope that Livin On A Pair will wake me up. This time, I was woken up to the news that there was more Madonna tickets on sale for the show. I sprung outta bed and ran to computer and bought me some tix!



So the show...Madonna didnt get on stage until 915 but she did manage to entertain 55,000 people with a two hour set. She played a lot of her fav songs and remixed or redid a lot of them too! She definetly puts on an awesome show. I would say that it was worth it for sure...I have some pics that I need to get off my phone and then I will post them!


One last thing...I saw some of the dirtiest looking 40 year olds ever. I think they reliving 1986 but without their 1986 charm!

LIVE NATION LICKS BIG ONES but the music was awesome

As you can tell by the title of this particular blog, I was really not that happy with Live Nation, the promoters of the Pemberton Music Festival. I was going to write this really long and drawn out blog about how bad the festival was. But this is what I am going to do...only complain a little.


The GOOD:

- The Lillooet Nation playing traditional songs at the end of Sunday after Coldplay
- NIN
- Tom Petty
- Jay Z....amazingly good...best of the weekend
- Black Mountain
- Interpol
- Coldplay
- NERD
- Death Cab For Cutie
- Sam Roberts Band (the two songs a actually got to see!)
- My Morning Jacket
- the fact that I got to stay in Whistler instead of the crap hole known as tent city
- i found my cousin on the last day after searching for two whole days
- the family that let us park on their lawn for free b/c some let them park on their lawn in Florida and she really wanted to screw the promoter
- i'll add anything i can think of later...


The Bad:

- the Hip...started strong...then Gord just stared to yell alot
- the Barcadi tent had three hour lineup...that meant no Chromeo, DJ Shawdow...etc
- Parking was an hour walk away from the site
- RCMP didnt do much to help the traffic situation


The Ugly:

- the lack of proper organization
-the fact that the papers said it was not as bad as it was...
- the average of 4 hours in traffic
- you could catch a shuttle for the airport/parking to the site without having to push people out of your way
- LIVE NATION
- $7 pepsi's
- that lack of training for the poor volunteers
- the lawlessness that was going on


But other than all of that...it will take a lot for me to go to this thing again...I will be going to the Whistler Music Festival instead...thats if they have another one again...I heard no one was at that one b/c everyone was poor from buying tickets for Pembie....

BUT the music saved the show...live music will always out trump shitty everything else...

Reunionized

Last night was my hs 10 year reunion. I have to like most, it was a better experience than i thought it was going to be. I wasnt really sure what to expect. Some one i know, at her reunion there was all kinds of stuff going on. People brought their new borns (not that weird) who were next to the girl dirty dancing on the piano. And there was also a group who decided to rent a hotel room and everyone had a 'neat' experience with each other.

So who knows what was going to happen at our reunion. Well nothing much. There was what you would expect. you have a conversation with this person, the same conversation with that person and so on. You know its time to move on when there is that awkward pause when both of you are trying to think of something to say but dont have anything else to contribute and you excuse yourself to the washroom or get another drink.

Thank being said, it was a good time and it was nice to those conversations with people before things got awkward!

1. just got the new coldplay...not bad...only listen to it once...but i first impression is more of the same, so if you like coldplay, which i do...get it. by far the best album cover of the year!

2. Girl Talk...i dont know much about them but i do know that they are trying the whole radiohead pay as you want system. I decided to give it a try and i do like there music. It is a mash up of all kinds of music and its pretty sweet but it comes with a warning. you must crank it up to appreciate it...

In my email i got this new song called I Kissed A Girl by Kate Perry. I have no idea who she is or what it would sound like...so what is my take on this song?

Its very pop with a crunchy sound. Its very catchy and I find my self singing the chorus. I think that this could be a very big summer hit. But I also wonder if this song is of the one hit variety. I was only sent this one song...but I have to admit, it appeals to me (maybe the imagery of the lyrics!) but dont tell anyone, please!

Fist Full of Spring

Of course its been a long time since my last blogg post. I was on a roll there for a while but things have slowed down. What has been going on lately?

I have bought tickets to see Stone Temple Pilots at Gm Place for the end of the summer. That should be pretty hot, assuming that Scott Weiland makes it to the show! They were one of those bands that I never saw during their first go around and vowed to see if they ever did make a comeback.

I am trying to think of anything else of significance but cant think of anything right now...oh I went to a mustache/birthday party last weekend. I think that i should of won best mustache...its pretty sweet. you be the judge! you should note that i progressed from a mustache to a goatee to including side burns and then a unibrow...
